Windows Live Movie Maker, the successor to Microsoft Movie Maker is a free video editing software handy. Unfortunately, it is impossible to add videos or photos are from a network drive. We'll see how well this remedy annoying limitation.

Click the Start button and type regedit.
Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows Live \ Movie Maker
In the left pane, create a new 32-bit DWORD value named AllowNetworkFiles and give it a value of 1.
