Install Google Chrome - Linux Ubuntu 14.04

You want to find the Chrome web browser in Ubuntu and can not get hold of it, even in the Ubuntu Software Center? Only the Chromium version are proposed effect. To install the original version of the browser, you must install it manually.

1-Open a Terminal window.


2-If your Linux is 64-bit, enter the following command and press Enter.

wget https://dl.google.com/linux/direct/google-chrome-stable_current_amd64.deb



3-If it is 32-bit, enter the following command and press Enter.

wget https://dl.google.com/linux/direct/google-chrome-stable_current_i386.deb

4-Chrome installation package is then downloaded to your personal folder.



5-Once the download is complete, enter the following command and press Enter (replace amd64.deb by i386.deb if you use the 32-bit version).

sudo dpkg –i google-chrome-stable_current_amd64.deb



6-Confirm the password for your user account and click OK. Chrome will be installed. You can close the terminal window.



To launch Chrome, click the Home button on Ubuntu. Enter Google Chrome in the Search field. Then click on the browser icon that appears.



8-Chrome is initiated. For quick access, you can pin its icon in the launcher.
